FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

When Closing a Real Estate Loan Refinance, Sale, or Purchase, can the borrower/seller request their own Closing Agent?

Yes! It's a little know fact that any borrower/seller may specifically request their own closing agent via their lender, or escrow officer. Loan closings are our specialty! We would love to help you through this process!

What documents do you notarize?

We offer a full range of notarial services. We notarize documents like living wills, real estate closing documents, and many more.

How much will it cost?

This will depend on the document being certified, and exactly what the notary is required to do and how far the notary needs to travel to meet you. We will be happy to discuss this with you prior to your appointments. Please note it will often be necessary to see the document in advance in order to provide an accurate fee estimate.

Why do I need proof of identity and proof of address?

One of the Notary's fundamental duties is to properly identify his or her client. This requirement is laid down by our practice rules and legislation.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, it is preferable to book an appointment in advance in order to ensure I will be available to see you. This also allows us to ensure we have all the necessary documents in advance, and that the appointment can be as brief as possible for you.

What is a signing agent?

A signing agent is a public notary who is an expert in loan closing documents. A lender, title company, or escrow service may hire a signing agent to handle getting documents delivered, signed, or processed efficiently and on time.

What is notarization?

Notarization is the process whereby a Notary certifies a document. Usually, this is done by attaching a notarial certificate to the document. The notarial certificate contains statements of fact or law in relation to the document being certified.
